Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why do we charge based on number of days instead of number of nights?Back in 1988, when we opened, we used the human hotel pricing system:
Day would be counted from 14h 00 to 12h 00 of the next day.
However, our costumers would not take their pets until 12h 00 and the next incoming client would find no vacancy. (In human hotels we take the luggage to the storage room…).

2. How do we walk the dogs?
Every stay includes letting dogs free on playgrounds twice a day.
These parks are used by a dog at a time, no mixing of dogs from different owners ever occurring.
Outdoors swimming pool is also available (when in season) for dogs. In this case owners will be responsible for the capacity of the pet to use the pool alone as this activity is not supervised.
Pets can join paid activities, where a handler will play with them on the lawn or in one of the pools. (20 min duration).

3. How do we medicate?
Pills are given inside chunks of canned meat. This service is free of charge from 9h to 18h.
The need to extend this timetable will led to overtime and displacement to the farm.
For insulin dependent pets or epilepsy cases the pets should alter their medication and feeding timetables at home at least one week beforehand to the check in to the farm, enabling taking the medication and being fed between 9h and 18h.

4. What kind of night care do we have?
One of our collaborators stays overnight.
5. Will dogs stop eating when separated from their family?
In an unknown place, dogs will evaluate if the environment is dangerous or friendly.
If people are friendly they will be relaxed and happily excited by the presence of other pets.
On rare occasions some animals will eat less; very seldom a dog will refuse feeding. On such event, on the second day, we try different sorts of treats. If that fails the owner is informed and we can use a tranquilizer.

6. How do we handle fearful or aggressive dogs?
Our trainer and all the staff have specific training to avoid confrontation with the pets.
7. Is it possible to socialize pets with other animals in the farm?
Hotel rules do not allow to mix pet from different owners, therefore we do not provide that service.
We do, however, offer socialization classes on the end of the obedience training for dogs.
8. Why pay at check in?We do, however, offer socialization classes on the end of the obedience training for dogs.
This rule arises from a high number of abandoned pets in the farm and has led to a relevant reduction of the occurrence.
